So, after the massage next door, I wanted to grab a quick bite. Ordered the Cali club. It had turkey, avocado, and provolone. I got it with mustard. It was good and fresh. Only wish it had more avocado.

Great place to get a nice fresh healthy fruit smoothie! It may not look open from the outside but it's a nice little mom and pop shop inside. :) Good find!

This is a bare bones cafe. Not much of an atmosphere, it's all about the food. Everything on the menu is healthy, with fresh ingredients. But don't worry, none of it tastes like boring, grassy health food. Each day, they have different homemade specials. My absolute favorite is the Mexican Pie, I consider myself very lucky if I catch them on a day they have it. The specials are very affordable, generous portions that come with a side salad. The house salad dressing is very good. Another specialty of Fresh Fare is the fruit smoothies. These are great on a hot day at the beach. You can see they make them with fresh fruit, too. There are several booths if you want to eat in, and a small TV over the dining bar. There's not much to the place, so you may want to order take out. Either way, you'll feel like you had a great meal without any guilt!

I overall like this place but there are a couple things that set me off: - The use of microwaves to heat food. I understand it's faster, but I'd prefer for the daily specials to be popped in a oven/mini oven whatever to be reheated. It doesn't taste like "fresh fare" when food comes out of a microwave - The use of microwave again to make tea. I suggest an electric kettle. - Produce/ingredients: The place is called "fresh fare cafe" so I imagine something like farm to table or fresh quality produce. Not so much. Looks like a lot of stuff is bought from Costco judging by the labels around the restaurant. I guess that's how they keep the prices down. Would be awesome if they hopped on the "Buy Fresh Buy Local" bandwagon, which would also support local farmers around Virginia Beach This place could be brilliant with a little more attention to quality.
